Overseer Sybil Bonds was born into a Pentecostal family in Marion, Louisiana. At the young age of eight years old, her family moved to a suburb of Detroit, Michigan called River Rouge. This is where she attended and graduated high school.

Lady Bonds’ father served for many years as an Assistant Pastor and Sunday School Superintendent. Her parents passionately kept the family in church. The Lord saved Lady Bonds at an early age and she remained saved throughout school. She worked diligently in the ministry serving in numerous capacities. She served as secretary, radio announcer, adult choir vice president, usher, nurse, Sunday School Teacher, and in the youth department. She also traveled to many crusades with her pastor and mission team. She remained a faithful and active member until she married and moved to Gary, Indiana.

After attending Detroit Business Institute she began working for a printing company for a short time as a typist and then for Michigan Bell Telephone Company, where she worked until she started her family. She always exemplified a holy life in the workplace and throughout her life.

On May 27, 1972, she was married to the late Dr. Lorenzo Bonds, Pastor of the Church of Deliverance in Christ. They were blessed with a wonderful marriage and were on 2 TV programs talking about marriage and the family. Four Children were born to this union, 3 daughters and one son. all four of her children and sons-in-law are saved and working diligently in the church ministry. Her Son is the Senior Pastor of the ministry. She also has a stepson and 11 grandchildren.

For almost 49 years, Lady Bonds assisted her husband in a vast number of capacities within the ministry. She currently serves as the President of the Women’s Department and the Overseer of the Ministry. She has also held the positions of secretary, adult, and junior choir director, Sunday School Teacher, and organist. She established the junior usher board, junior choir, greeters, and praise team. Lady Bonds traveled extensively with her husband throughout the United States and South Africa. She also traveled to Curacao in the Netherlands to an International Women’s Conference with an Evangelistic team where she taught a marriage seminar. She was also given a Women of Wonder Award along with other Pastors’ Wives and dignitaries in the city by Dr. Mildred C. Harris. She is a great woman of God and we are so blessed to have her.
